Endline Survey of Integrated Development Programme of Women Cooperatives to Reduce Gender Based Violence, 2015

 

The overall objective of this study was to track and assess the progresses made by the Integrated Development Program of Women Cooperatives to Reduce Gender Based Violence within the project results framework. This study was conducted in 36 Village Development Committees of 12 districts representing all eco-development region of the country. Information was collected from 750 adult women, 750 adult men, 750 children (15-17 years of both gender), 270 VDC level key informants and 49 district level key informants. Similarly, 12 focus group discussions was conducted among children between 7-14 years of age. This Endline Survey was conducted for the United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF).

 

Baseline Survey of Paralegal Committees (PLC) 2011

 

The aim of this research was to provide a benchmark for the PLC programme that will provide the basis for monitoring and evaluation of both the outcome and outputs of the project. In addition, the survey assessed knowledge and attitudes towards violence and abuse, and the capacity of duty bearers to prevent and respond to the different forms of violence committed against women and children.

 

Information was collected at central, district and community levels. For community level information collection, 50 clusters were selected from 36 districts. Seven hundred and fifty respondents of each type (women 18-65 years, men 18-65 years and children 15-17 years) included from household level. Likewise, 100 FGDs (80 FGDs among in-school and 20 among out-of-school children) was organized. A total of 354 VDC/municipality level stakeholders were included in the survey. Similarly, 168 district level stakeholders were included from the study districts. Information was also collected from 19 central key informants. This study was conducted for UNICEF.

 

KAP Survey on Addressing Child Marriage in Nepal through Behavior Change Communication and Social Mobilization: Chunauti Project, 2010

 

CARE Nepal is implementing Chunauti Project in 112 Village Development Committees of Dhanusha, Mahottari and Rupandehi districts. The overall goal of the project is to decrease the harmful practice of child marriage in the program districts, and strengthen the enabling environment at the national and district levels to combat child marriage and other forms of gender based violence. The main objective of the study was to establish a baseline value for the selected indicators of Chunauti Project. The populations for the present study were household members of both genders. One thousand and two hundred persons of both sexes were interviewed from 18 sampled village development committees of three districts. This study was conducted for CARE Nepal.

 

A Study on Understanding Childhood Vulnerability and Poverty in Sindhupalchowk in Nepal 2010

 

This study was conducted in Sindhupalchowk district. This study aimed at gaining an insight into the factors at household level that induce childhood poverty and vulnerability. The specific objectives of the study were to analyze economic, social, and demographic factors at household level that negatively impact children, and the extent to which attitudes and behavior towards children within the household may negatively impact children’s well-being and opportunities for development of children with age and gender disaggregation. The study conducted jointly with Kaarak Enterprise Development Services, India.

 

A study on Understanding the Scope of Social Protection Measures as a means to improve Child well being in Sindhupalchowk in Nepal 2010

 

This study was conducted in Sindhupalchowk district. The purpose of this study was to better understand the scope of existing social protection programmes in Nepal, and particularly in Sindhupalchowk, to assist chronically poor to come out of poverty and to ensure that moderately poor do not slide into poverty. The study conducted jointly with Kaarak Enterprise Development Services, India.
